About Teil

     Teil Duncan Henley is a contemporary artist based in Columbus, Georgia. Establishing her fine art studio in Charleston, South Carolina after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Auburn University, Teil moved her studio back to her hometown of Columbus in 2019 with her husband and their three children. Inspired by light, movement, color and pattern, Teil’s work infuses abstract elements, pixelated compositions and joyful color combinations no matter the subject. Boundless in her creativity and sources of inspiration as a fine artist, Teil’s body of work incorporates still lives, figures, portraits, scenes, landscapes, architecture and more. Every brush stroke marries color and joy that is uniquely Teil in character. For nearly a decade, her paintings and prints have captivated collectors and interior designers across the country. 

     In March 2024, Teil expanded her scope with the addition of Teil Textiles & Wallpaper. A curated collection of fabric by the yard, wallpaper and grasscloth wall coverings, this new creative avenue is a testament to the artist's interest in and mastery within the world of patterns and color. Balancing scale, texture and complimentary designs for sophisticated layering across interiors, this extension of her brand has been as challenging as it is rewarding. 

     Pulling from both her paintings and fabric patterns, Teil also offers a range of products for the home and lifestyle. Inclusive of lampshades and pillows as well as stationery items and cosmetic bags, each finished product brings Teil’s patterns to life in new, dynamic and exciting ways.
